Song of the Week: Incense and Peppermint

Incense and Peppermint
No, this track isn’t by some band called ‘??’; I really don’t know who it is. I taped this fantastic (and I think, superior) version of the Strawberry Alarm Clock psych classic off a late night radio programme about 13 years ago, missed the back announcement and have wondered who it was ever since. So if anyone reading this does know, please put me out of my misery.

I think the Adult Net did a version but apart from that not much help, i have a feeling that pop psychedelia is better the the “serious” kind

Mmm, don’t quite think that it’s Adult Net somehow, but whatever did happen to Brix E. Smith? Part of the reason I’d like to know who did this is to find out whether they recorded anything else - it could be the entry to pop psych heaven for all I know.

Brix smith now runs a fashion business in London’s fashionable eastend, Vintage cloths I think. You could try Shazam ie play the tune into your mobile phone after dialing 2580 you play at least 20 seconds of tune and it texts you back with the title might work not done it in a while.

Well, fancy that. Might try Shazam, although I suspect that this track could be a bit too obscure.

I’ve got the Adult Net version.
Brix Smith is now one of the ‘experts’ on Gok’s Fashion Fix.
